    where can i see the # of StarScope licenses purchased by a client?

    JABRA setup FOR PHONES

     

    Bryan - Polycom SoundPoint and VVX ranges support Jabra headsets and have a setting to accomplish this so that EHS works correctly. Navigate to Settings / Basic / Preferences

    When plugging a Polycom IP 335 into our network, I received an error "Image not compatible with Phone" and cannot find any reference in Knowledge Base

    2/24/14: The error message "image not compatible with phone" indicates an upgrade to the latest firmware version is necessary.

    I think that there should be more documentation on how to configure firewalls around the StarBox when the firewall is in a DMZ - the documentation you have on VPN's is now eight years old. That is pretty ancient in terms of technology where there are new advances every six months or less.

    It would be very helpfully if you had something about Selling Star 2 Star versus Hosted , I wasted a lot of time trying to find something on it a comparison a competitive analysis something but to no avail. Put something there

    Please publish clear list of Star2Star supported phones. The knowledge base is very vague on whether the CISCO CP-7970G phones are certified and supported by Star2Star.

    STAR2STAR CALL PARK AND RETRIEVE – This applies to the Panasonic Cordless Phone TGP 500

    Perform an announced transfer to the park code 7000.

    Listen to the system retrieval code announcement e.g. 7001.Transfer the call. The caller is now parked.

    The caller will hear music or message on hold if configured on your system.

    Dial the system retrieval code e.g. 7001 on any local extension to retrieve the call.

    Is there a general "rule of thumb" guide for a simplistic setup of providers modem?

    I figure that Star2Star engineers have had to deal with many manufacturer modems/routers out there from Comcast, ATT, Frontier, etc...

    I also figure that they all end up getting set a certain way to allow status to show properly to know that the equipment is functioning correctly. There should be a "best settings" or what worked scenarios to allow dealers to review without every install being a call into support.

    Comcast business modems offer a built in firewall that is essentially on, in a non-bridged mode, but shutting it off changes nothing on the Star2Star Portal showing status of the customers Starbox. Still shows red under the following, StarBox Ping Status, StarBox Telephony Service, Network Management. If you put the modem into bridge mode, it is not able to be seen from the outside at all. If you set the modem up in non-bridged mode and set it as a DMZ with a private IP address on the "inside network" ie 10.1.10.2, all status shows the same as listed above.

    ATT Uverse modems can have their firewall disabled and set in a bridge mode without issues, but shouldn't that be documented somewhere on the portal rather then require a call into support.
